The Night

How the evening went

We got engaged in front of both our families, under the ivory drapes and the big floral backdrop, with candles lit and far too much cake.

Reem wore hand-beaded lace with a pearl-trimmed veil, Mohamed wore his grey double-breasted suit, and our initials sat on top of the cake in gold. It was exactly the evening we hoped for.

There were two cakes, a tower of macarons, a tower of doughnuts, and gold trays of tarts and traditional sweets — more than anyone could finish.
